You Might Be My Son

If you want to be outside 24 hours a day getting filthy dirty and sweaty, but you can't stand to have anything on your hands...You might be my son.

If you are the owner of 250 balls, but you can't pass any ball in any store anywhere without screaming for another...You might be my son.

If your favorite pass time is a toss up between trying to con your parents into giving you candy and hitting everything in the house with a bat...You might be my son.

If you have absolutely no fear of jumping off the couch or jumping into the pool despite your lack of swimming prowess...You might be my son.

If you are going through a phase where you love applesauce more than anything except chocolate...You might be my son.

If you love dragging people around the house by their fingers in order to entice them to do your bidding...You might be my son.

If you can say two or three new words every day...You might be my son.

If you have recently started pointing at the TV and saying T T when you want to watch the tube...You might be my son.

If you spent this morning singing Hot Dog! with me while we watched Mickey Mouse by say Da Dog! ...You might be my son.

If you woke me up at 5:30 the previous two mornings...You might be my son, but I can't be sure due to severe sleep deprivation.

Haha! I LOVE this....the first one? That sounds exactly like Ethan. He can be red-faced with heat and his head can be soaked with sweat, and he still wants to be outside. But if he falls, he runs to me to get the dirt off his hands!

And what's up with Applesauce? Must be a kid thing because Ethan is always saying ahsauce right now.

This was perfect! Hope you get some sleep soon.

super cute. 5:30 is too early.

I'm smiling a smug smile over here because my girls would never even think about getting up (maybe going to sleep) at 5:30 a.m. They're teens, they like to sleep until the crack of noon (when their father lets them, which is very rare).

Ball, dirt, and applesauce certainly sounds like a kid thing. However, leading a parent all over to get them to do their bidding and TV are things kids NEVER outgrow. Aren't you glad? :D

Ah, the apple sauce phase, I remember it well. Just wait until he's spewing out sentence fragments during his parrot phase. We are deeply entrenched in that one right now.

Love it! Watch out for applesauce and singing together - could be quite messy.

The last I checked "24 hours a day" meant 5:30AM as well...

This is very cute, but if you ever had any questions about the issue, shouldn't you have had a talk with Arica?

What is it with kids and wanting every single bouncy ball they see? My son's the same way. He's got two hundred fifty seven thousand at least, and still wants more. Every new one that comes into the house is lost within thirteen minutes. And found wedged deep within the couch cushions during the next big cleaning effort.

Enjoy the sleep deprivation.
