I Can See Clearly Now the Seat Has Turned

I don't have much to share today. I only have a short post. So when you are done go by Dad Blogs and check out all the other great blog posts on this Fatherhood Friday.

Fatherhood Friday at Dad Blogs

In my last post I wrote about our trip to the doctor. I claimed the good news was that Braden was disease free. That is true, and we are very thankful for that.

There was also some other good news. We were granted permission to put Braden in a forward facing car seat. We have had one sitting in a box since before Braden was born. Now we can get that plush, stylish Eddie Bauer chair out of its cardboard prison and into our car.

That means no more forcing a large kid into a small car seat. No more struggling to get the buckles snapped together over Braden's stomach. No more lugging that stupid car seat from car to car. No more keeping up with the bases for the seat. No more looking into a myriad of perfectly placed mirrors aligned at very precise angles to see Braden in his seat.

It means even more to Braden. Now he can see where we are going instead of where we have been.

All of my kids were happy when we were able to place them in front facing seats. Sometimes I want to turn them around when they start backseat driving.

Nice! Little man really enjoyed it when I changed his seat to forward facing. Of course, I decided to turn it around the day we were leaving for a 15 hour road trip and by night fall he didn't know how to get comfortable in it, so that was a major fail on my part. But he loves being able to see where we are going, rather than stare at the ceiling.

Well done! That last sentence was so profound and sums it up perfectly. Congrats to Braden on the upgrade!

Congratulations Braden! I hope you enjoy your new car seat!
Otter, like Melisa, I found your last sentence very profound. It's always good to see where you're going.

I, too, like the last sentence. We moved Ethan to his bigger car-seat sometime back, but it's still rear-facing. There's so many different opinions out there...my ped said wait till he's 2! Oh, man, but that's a long time...

Congrats on the upgrade!

My Joshua was very excited when we were able to switch to the big seat and go forward facing. Now we're looking at a booster already...holy cow! Hope he enjoys the view!

The is awesome news. I remember when we switched our kids forward facing. We have a TV in the van so it was like heaven for the kids. They were no longer bored looking at the back window anymore. I hope Brandon enjoys his new view.

Happy Friday.

Oh it's a wonderful day when you can turn the car seat to forward facing. I hope Braden is one happy little man. :)

We took HRH on vacation at 10 mos. We couldn't get his car seat to install backward tightly enough so opted to face it forward and securely (he was +20 lbs).

It was like the whole world had just turned on for him. He was PUMPED!

Thanks for the nice memory.

Which means he's eventually going to be telling you how to drive the car. Good luck on that one...

Oh happy day!

I can't wait for this day for our littlest. Not only will she be able to see where we're going, but I'll get more leg room in our cramped vehicle!

This makes car trips much easier and little ones much better entertained.

This is great news! Much nicer to have him facing forward now. I'm sure he'll be a much happier camper from here on out.
